Video Players (VLC, mplayer, totem, etc.) Crash with BadAlloc Error

Bug Description

This is on a new installation of Feisty. All of the video players mentioned fail with an 'X error':
BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)

I am nearly certain that my videos were playing after the install. (It was a clean install.)

Video card is a Matrox Millennium G450 Dual Head LX (AGP).

Seems related to bugs #111257 and #39050, but I'm not using intel video or compiz.

I have not made any manual modifications to the xorg config file, and the only recent changes to the system were the installation of some KDE apps via Synaptic.

I should also add that this video card has been working fine for me in breezy, dapper, and edgy.

Dont mind my previous comment.
I will mark this bug as a duplicate of #111257 because its a bug in xv or xorg. As far as I can see it has nothing to do with intel or compiz.
please reopen it if you think it's not the same bug.
Thanks

It's pretty similar, but I don't think this is the same bug. All of the comments in bug 111257 refer to intel cards and the intel drivers. I'm running a Matrox Millennium G450 Dual Head LX (which means the mga driver, I believe).

Could you please recheck it with Gutsy Final Live CD? If it doesn't work please post some more information like xorg.conf and the output from lspci.
