Bug Description
Steps to reproduce on my machine:
1) open inkscape
2) click anywhere on workspace
Result:
X dies, back to login prompt
Expected result:
nothing should happen
Details of my setup:
I did not manage to get an Xorg backtrace yet as I don't have a second maching to do the remote SSH thing.
This bug looks a lot like #1023004, I opened a new one because the old one is "fix released" with no-one assigned to.
The install is fresh on a new laptop. I have since switched to the xorg-bleeding PPA, but this did not fix the problem. I am also now using the trunk PPA of inkscape, without change of behaviour.
Please advise if more information is needed.
