"GNOME Flashback (XMonad)" session does not work

Bug Description
As of Ubuntu 20.04, the session "GNOME Flashback (XMonad)" session no longer works. On entering my password and hitting return, the screen briefly goes dark, then I am presented with the login screen again. I am attaching an excerpt from the output of `sudo journalctl` of the 5 seconds within which that login attempt happened, hoping it helps.
