I was also getting a segfault on audacious start. By renaming /usr/lib/audacious/Output/libcrossfade.so to something else (with a different extension), I am now able to start the program just fine.

Example backtrace with debugging symbols enabled:

If "audacious-crossfade" is uninstalled, I can use audacious normally again.

This was fixed in hardy-updates, and xmms was removed from Intrepid. To fix this fully for intrepid, audacious needs a "Conflicts: audacious-crossfade" for good measure.
