Bug Description

My laptop is Dell Latitude C400 model no PP03L. I use Ubuntu from Breezy to current Interprid, but none of them has compatible keyboard layout. I can not type ] } \ _ on my keyboard. I have set in System -> Preferences -> Keyboard to:
- Dell Latitude series laptop
- Layout Japan as default

Image of similar laptop can be seen on
http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d85309912

Or if that page has expired, you can type c400 in the search form.

The link seems to have expired, and typing c400 into the search field resulted in a wide variety of products displayed. Please attach your image rather than provide a hyperlink, as these change.

The keyboard layouts are controlled by files in /usr/share/X11/xkb/. I think the file that affects your choices is /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/jp - would you mind seeing if you can edit that file and make changes that enable your keyboard to work properly? If you can do this, then attach that file to this bug, and we can send it in for merging with the official stuff.
