Bug Description

Please update xkeyboard-config/xkb-data to include the latest keyboard layouts. It would be nice to have the Guinea layout (gn) needed for N’ko for example. Can this make it for Gusty's release?

The Congolese (DRC) keyboard layout, cd, hasn’t been updated on Ubuntu although it has been upstream for months.

New version uploaded to Ubuntu Hardy.

xkeyboard-config (1.1~cvs.20080104.1-1ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low
 .
   * Merge from debian unstable, remaining changes:
     - Add patch cs_hr_any, avoid using the "any" symbol in cs and hr, since
       console-setup doesn't understand it (Ubuntu: #93077).
     - Keep preinst conffile upgrade code for dapper -> hardy upgrades.
     - Add transitional package for xkeyboard-config.
     - Replace various packages that used to contain XKB data.
     - Create symlinks from /etc/X11/xkb/ subdirectories and .dir files
to the corresponding directories and files in /usr/share/X11/xkb/.

There is a new stable release by FreeDesktop since 2008-01-28.

Would that be updated for Hardy? If the answer is yes, would someone point me how can I get in touch with the ubiquity team?

If the package is to be updated, I would like to try to provide a patch for ubiquity, and the live CD keymap chosing menu, though I don't know how to do it yet.

The keyboard layout I use has been finally released in this update (1.2), and I would like it to be available as a choice of keymap in the live CD and ubiquity.

Thanks!
