Bug Description

Binary package hint: me-tv

With me-tv 0.5.33-3, the mute function applied only to me-tv. This allowed me to, for example, listen to music during commercial breaks. With the upgrade to me-tv 0.7.14-1, mute is applied globally. Now my only choices are to listen to the tv mixed together with my music, or to have no sound at all. Please revert back to the previous behaviour.

This is an issue with a xine's default audio settings, not Me TV. Add this line to ~/.me-tv/xine.config which should fix the issue, it overrides the xine's default setting.

gui.audio_mixer_method:Software

Let me know if this doesn't solve your issue.

Adding that line did indeed fix the problem, thanks. This should be the default setting in me-tv, reopening.

This is an issue that occurs in me-tv 0.7.14-1, but not 0.5.33-3, so is a regression in me-tv functionality. Having a mute button that doesn't actually mute the program isn't very useful. This should be fixed before Jaunty release.

Once again, this is not a Me TV issue, you need to raise this with xine-ui. It's the source of the issue. When you run xine it will do the same thing.
