In my case the bad boy is in package xdg-utils, ie. /usr/bin/xdg-screensaver. It refuses to use dbus and runs gnome-screensaver-command --poke !

To disable that behaviour, run your app with

GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID='' xvdr
