crackle sound in amarok on mono tracks

Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

Amarok plays perfectly stereo files , but "crackles" on any mono files when playing via ALSA. "Crackles" is not like overload "fuzz" or something like that - just annoying very fast clicks on sound peaks.

When playing via OSS, everything is OK, but some time after Amarok repeats small piece of current track and finally halts.

All other audio-video players (except Audacious) is OK on all tracks and in ALSA and OSS modes.

Ubuntu 7.04 i386 Desktop CD with latest updates. AD1986A soundcard on ASUS A8N-VM CSM motherboard.

Is this report still valid?

Changing the target package to xine-lib, since this issue is not related to Amarok itself, but it's audio backend.
