2008-04-20 09:53:41 Mantas Kriaučiūnas description Binary package hint: totem Totem Version 2.18.0 - Movie Player using xine-lib version 1.1.4 and GNOME uname -a Linux 2.6.20-13-generic #2 SMP Sun Mar 25 00:21:25 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux IBM Thinkpad Z60t Sound chip: 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) Symptom: Sound garbled when playing *.mov files with totem-xine How to reproduce: Open *.mov file with totem-xine and decrease volume with the volume knob in totem. How to "fix": Set the volume knob in Totem to full. Does not affect xine or by lowering volume with the PCM volume. Movie file sound characteristics: 63kb/s, Codec:linear PCM, Sample rate: 7875 Hz, Channels: 0 channels ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Apr 3 23:54:38 2007 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/totem Package: totem-xine 2.18.0-0ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdline: totem file:///home/agust/Imported%20media/106SANDS/VCLP/VCLP6096.MOV ProcCwd: /home/agust ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=is_IS.UTF-8 PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=is_IS.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: totem Uname: Linux agust-laptop 2.6.20-13-generic #2 SMP Sun Mar 25 00:21:25 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux Binary package hint: totem-xine Totem Version 2.22.1 - Movie Player using xine-lib version 1.1.11.1 and GNOME Problem: Sound garbled (horribly distorted) when playing the video or audio files encoded in Linear (Microsoft) PCM (often used in photo camera's videos) with totem-xine, if totem's volume control is not at 100%. It sounds more distorted the lower the volume control is set. How to reproduce: Open http://web.t-online.hu/majorandras/HPIM1411.AVI or http://www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/2006-migshootdown.wav file with totem-xine and decrease volume with the volume knob in totem. How to "fix": Set the volume knob in Totem to full. Movie file sound characteristics: 176 kbps, Codec: Linear PCM, Sample rate: 22050 Hz, Channels: 0 channels I also tested these avi and wav files with gxine (using libxine1 ver 1.1.11.1) and didn't noticed any problems with sound in any volume level, so, *this is not xine-lib bug*.
