Bug Description

Binary package hint: xfwm4

Xubuntu Jaunty desktop cd boots to "twm" instead of xfwm4 window manager.

daily-live iso "jaunty-desktop-i386.iso" and "jaunty-desktop-amd64.iso" dated 12-24-2008 and earlier including the Alpha2 release.

Description: Ubuntu Jaunty (development branch)
Release: 9.04

apt-cache policy xfwm4
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 4.4.3-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
    4.4.3-0ubuntu1 0

apt-cache policy xubuntu-desktop
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 2.76
  Version table:
    2.76 0

I expected the xubuntu desktop to appear, as it does from previous desktop cd's. Instead, I get a tan background with cyan squares in the upper right corner. Right-click on the mouse gives "CurrentDesk: 0 Geometry"; left-click gives
"Applications" with the following under it and selectable:
  "xterm"
  "Emacs"
  "Emacs RMAIL"
  "Netscape"

This is not a usable desktop for Xubuntu.

I do have the entire /var/log directory saved. I am attaching the following: casper.log, dpkg.log, syslog

This appears to have been fixed as of 01-13-2009 so I am marking it fix-released

Changed in xfwm4:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Fix Released
