I was just updating everything when the thing hung.
Since I hadn't been using Linux in a few years, a few repositories disappeared. I don't know what caused this specific failure.
I left this as a bug despite your "guidelines" because something must've triggered xfe to crash and it would be nice if it could have a more graceful degradation.
