Desktop setting does not remove all of the desktop icons despite default icons in desktop settings being unchecked

2) xfdesktop4 4.10.0
3) I exptected all icons to be removed from desktop when the default icons are unchecked in desktop settings.
4) Several of the desktop icons remain on the desktop despite being unchecked in the desktop settings /default icons.
