xfce4-volumed crashed with SIGFPE in __libc_start_main()

I am testing Xubuntu from a multi-boot DVD supplied with Linux Format magazine in the UK. Xubuntu loads and seems to work OK but gives an error message about "xfce" and I cannot access my internal hard drive.
