Bug Description

The process still runs but does not respond to media key presses.

After this condition is noticed, test clicking on the desktop/root window to clear focus does not alter the media key functions. Pressing volume up, down, or mute has no effect.

This functionality returns after commanding:
pkill -15 xfce4-volumed; xfce4-volumed

This is usually noticed after running gzdoom (v1.8.4).

Do you have ubuntu-desktop, unity, overlay scrollbars, global menus installed on your system? (Not necessarily activated, but installed).

If so this is probably https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314782

And even if you don't, it still might be that bug...

It may be so.

I don't have ubuntu-desktop or overlay scrollbars installed. Unity was installed and I couldn't find the package name for global menu. I think it was something like appmenu but it's not in the repo anymore.

I haven't had the issue in a while so hopefully it's fixed.
