What I expected to happen:
- The touchpad buttons swapped round, tapping stays as left-click.
What actually happened:
- The touchpad buttons are swapped and tapping is changed to right-click.

Please explain in a little more detail. You expected the buttons to swap, but not be changed? Can the touchpad buttons really swap without changing their function?
Since the index finger is normally used to left-click, if the touchpad is changed to left-hand, I would expect the index finger of the left-hand to be used to left-click. By not swapping the function of the buttons, this would not happen.
