RFE: consolidate appearance-related applets

Binary package hint: xfwm4

please consolidate xfce4-appearance-settings and xfwm4-settings into a single frontend. I think that would be more user-friendly.

Hi Rolf, this is a decision Xfce upstream should make, so you'd have to report it there: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/enter_bug.cgi

However, I think this may also warrant a discussion on their mailinglist: http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfce4-dev Besides allowing you to provide a good rationale for this change, it will also help preventing your feature request going unnoticed.

Xfce is not a single large application, but composed of many small applications that work together. Appearance is a separate appliction from xfwm4, and controls different elements. Xfce developers have chosen not to integrate these different components because that does allow greater flexibility when deciding which components to use.

There has been some work started in a branch upstream: http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/log/?h=stephan/dialogs (but it's on hold for now afaik).
