invisible pointer on boot

Bug Description

Upon login to xfce, there is a pointer (as evidenced by right clicking with the touch pad) but it is invisible. Plugging a mouse in makes the pointer visible again.

Plugging mouse in does not always work but lightdm *does* see the pointer on boot, just once you finish logging in does it disappear.

ubuntu-studio session does not seem to be affected

logging out and logging in makes the pointer appear visible

affects: xfce4 (Ubuntu) → xfce4-settings (Ubuntu)

this does not happen in gnome.

no longer affects: lightdm (Ubuntu)

Alright. I noticed that the bug description mentions Ubuntu-GNOME, so this is most likely a duplicate of bug 1390628.
