invisible pointer on boot

Bug Description
Upon login to xfce, there is a pointer (as evidenced by right clicking with the touch pad) but it is invisible. Plugging a mouse in makes the pointer visible again.

Plugging mouse in does not always work but lightdm *does* see the pointer on boot, just once you finish logging in does it disappear.
