Bug Description

Clean install of Xubuntu 14.04 on a HP ENVY6 1006sa . When I adjust the screen brightness up or down, for each button press a display settings window appears. Also for any screen brightness change like under power saving a display settings window appears.

03/06/14: I should add this is with the AMD fglrx graphics driver installed. I did a 2nd clean install on 25/05/14 and problem does not occur with the Xubuntu xserver-xorg-video-ati video driver. So this is the work around. I prefer the fglrx driver as it is far more power efficient, 8watts compared with 10watts.
