Bug Description
I have tapping set off in touchpad settings. Despite this, it seems that tapping the lower right corner of the touchpad does a right-click. The bug happens in multiple machines, but is a bit unreliable to trigger: maybe it requires some exact spot, tapping length, or tapping force on the touchpad to happen.

I can disable Tap touchpad to click, it works only for left-click behavior, but not to right-click behavior.

This still happens with ppa:xubuntu-
As of now disabling tap to click does not affect the corner button actions.

I'm unable to reproduce this error. Maybe someone fixed it in the upstream?

I can confirm this is still an issue.
I'm using a Lenovo W550s, fairly recent install of Xubuntu 15.04 (see attached ubuntu-bug output).
The xfconf pointers xml file had explicit values for these options in the synaptics tap action property, which presumably were copied from some initial configuration, but I can't track down the origin of those values (RT=2, RB=3).
Strangely, it appears xserver-
And while we're on the topic, I suppose the tap and drag gesture should probably also be disabled when disabling tap click?

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
