I could make hibernate work in Feisty by
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=1656039&postcount=13
or alternatively by
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/66637/comments/23 (I didn't use 'fdisk -l' to determine swap though.)
I don't know which method is more recommended.
After trying hibernate, password is not asked during resume. Is this a feature of hibernate rather than a bug?
BTW There comes a horizontal bar to the screen before GUI of Xubuntu (i.e. XFce) displays. |
Xubuntu 8.04
I expect computer to resume screen locked. Luckily I can configure Xubuntu in Screensaver settings to resume that way when hibernate or suspend is triggered by power button, suspend button or closing laptop lid. However, not all computers have all those means to trigger those suspend states.

I guess /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume is set in Hardy default installation.)

I'm confirming this bug, I confirmed it on Xubuntu Intrepid, and on Hardy. I don't think we can fix this in time for Intrepid, so we should try and fix it in jaunty, then do an SRU for Intrepid and Hardy. |

I expect computer to resume screen locked. Luckily I can configure Xubuntu in Settings -> Power Management (or start the same dialog by command gnome-power-preferences in terminal) to resume that way when hibernate or suspend is triggered by power button, suspend button, closing laptop lid or by using the tray icon.
