Bug Description

I am using Xubuntu 20.04.
xfce4-session-logout --suspend
exits with 0, but suspends only after long delay. This happens only if I have xfce4-screensaver running, even if it is set not to lock screen on suspend.

I don't think it's a kernel issue. Some userspace process blocked the suspend. Can you please test whether suspend works under Ubuntu live USB?

I made a couple of tests by Xubuntu Core 20.04 live USB (downloaded from https://unit193.net/xubuntu/core/). First time was by default settings i.e. 'lock screen when system is going to sleep' checked - I think that is not a good default setting for live - and the other time when it was not checked. Both times it did not suspend. The former did blank screen immediately, the other one after delay of several seconds. No keyboard activity did have an effect so I had to use power button.

XUbuntu 20.04: In Screensaver Preferences, lock screen is disabled (in fact when enabled it was a loop logging, impossible to unlock). However, still locking (fortunately with no loop), don't know where this lock comes from.
