Workspace Switcher miniature view incorrectly shows space for unused second monitor

Bug Description

Recently upgraded Xubuntu from Quantal to Raring, then immediately to Saucy. Prior to upgrade, the miniature view worked as expected (disable second monitor, miniature view no longer displays the space that would be extended onto that monitor).

Since upgrade, the miniature view *always* shows that space. Toggling the second monitor on and then back off does not change the behavior, although while the second monitor is active the miniature does correctly display any windows placed on it.

"Second monitor" in this case is the native laptop screen. Normal usage (in my own case) is to use only the larger external monitor while docked at my workstation.

lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 13.10
Release: 13.10

apt-cache policy xfce4-panel:
xfce4-panel:
  Installed: 4.10.1-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 4.10.1-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 4.10.1-1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Expected behavior:
Miniature view should only show cells for "live"desktops. That is, no space should be shown if you disable a given monitor.

What happened instead:
Miniature view shows cells for both enabled and disabled monitors.
