Bug Description

Binary package hint: xen-tools

while running "% xen-create-image --hostname=test1 --dhcp", I find the following in the log.
--
Running hook 100-ubuntu-setup
chroot: cannot change root directory to /usr/sbin/update-rc.d: Not a directory
chroot: cannot change root directory to /usr/sbin/update-rc.d: Not a directory
chroot: cannot change root directory to rm: No such file or directory
chroot: cannot change root directory to ln: No such file or directory
hook 100-ubuntu-setup: done.
---

This seems to be caused by a simple typo and I have attached a quick fix.
Let me know if you need any more config information.

I believe 100-ubuntu-setup is obsolete since 31-ubuntu-setup does the same (and more)? So 100-ubuntu-setup should be removed instead...

It does indeed duplicate part of what 31-ubuntu-setup does. However, it happens to run after 05-shadowconfig-on and before 15-disable-hwclock so it's not even running where it was assumed that it would run. Not good.

This would account for xvc0 being appended to /etc/securetty 67 times on my Dom0, tty1 using xvc0, and the hwclock changes made by that script.

So yes, 100-ubuntu-setup should be removed.

This bug breaks tty1 on dom0 by rewriting dom0's /etc/event.d/tty1, and has a really simple fix (removal of 100-ubuntu-setup) -- why hasn't it been fixed yet?

This bug refers to a file present in the ubuntu-specific patch in earlier xen-tools versions and may be still present in hardy, but is definitely fixed in Oneiric and later as those package versions have no ubuntu-specific patch anymore. I'm hence closing as "Fix Released".
