Bug Description

Just installed Intrepid alpha 5 a couple days ago. When trying to install either ubuntu-xen-desktop or ubuntu-xen-server, I am greeted by the following:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ubuntu-xen-server: Depends: linux-xen but it is not installable
Depends: python-xen-3.2 but it is not installable
Depends: xen-docs-3.2 but it is not installable
Depends: xen-hypervisor-3.2 but it is not installable
Depends: xen-utils-3.2 but it is not installable

I only see versions 3.1 and 3.3 in the Intrepid repository. The linux-xen package does not exist at all.

Not sure if this issue is expected given the (presumed) move to a newer version of xen; thought it'd be worth mentioning.

Yes, depends should be changed to 3.3.
AFAIK, domU is in the normal kernels and dom0 support isn't planned, so the dependency on the linux-xen meta package should be dropped.
Note also that xenman is obsolete and is replaced by convirt.

Until this is fixed, as a work-around just manually install the required packages:

ubuntu-xen-server:
bridge-utils, libxen3, python-xen-3.3, xen-docs-3.3, xen-hypervisor-3.3, xen-tools, xen-utils-3.3

ubuntu-xen-desktop:
above + convirt

Manual package installation works as advertised. Thank you.

xen-meta (0.0.1-2ubuntu9) intrepid; urgency=low

  * Update server and desktop. Use linux-server as a domU. You are on your
    own for dom0.
