xdotool doesn't work properly with keysym

I want to type the character _ or the character ? using
xdotool key underscore or xdotool key question but I obtain the wrong character:

xdotool key underscore print a question mark (?) while xdotool key question print un underscore (_)

This issue wasn't present in previous 14.04 version.

[Update] The issue disappear with this workaround:
in a shell execute

setxkbmap -layout us

and then return to my default map:

setxkbmap -layout it

from now (until reboot) xdotool works properly.
