Bug Description

redrawing of the windows desktop is not always "clean". Afterimages of window shadows are visible even so the window has been closed. When dragging a new window over the afterimage, they disappear and the desktop looks normal again.

Its just annoying.

I just found out that this is triggered through toggling guake (a terminal window, an oneiric package).
It appears and disappears on F12 and obviously the desktop is repainted when the window appears, but not when it disappears.

It does not appear when minimizing a window like nautilus. So it seems to be more specific to guake-like disappearing windows.

Can you explain why you filed this against xcompmgr? Are you running a customized installation using this (non-standard) compositor? Or is it just filed against xcompmgr in error?

Why I use xcompmgr ?

I have/use:
openbox
cairo-dock ! Its not decent without compositing. Unhappy with Awant performance.

Problem:
Metacity, compiz crash with openbox. That left me the option of xcompmgr what actually does well, except this small bug.

How I run xcompmgr:

xcompmgr -cF -t-9 -l-11 -r9 -o.95 -D6

which activates shadows beneath windows. And that bug described above is my only small problem recently.
