Bug Description

open /usr/share/doc/xclip/README will have a link to http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/clipboards.txt which does not work however there are now two pages at freedesktop.org now that are http://standards.freedesktop.org/clipboards-spec/clipboards-0.1.txt and http://standards.freedesktop.org/clipboards-spec/clipboards-latest.txt so maybe both should be listed. This is just link rot as something changed. xclip:
  Installed: 0.12+svn84-4
  Candidate: 0.12+svn84-4
  Version table:
 *** 0.12+svn84-4 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Description: Ubuntu 15.04
Release: 15.04

I expected the link in the documentation to work. Instead I got a 404 error and found the pages had been moved slightly on freedesktop.org.
