Bug Description

Binary package hint: xchat

Running 2.8.0 on feisty.

I have had my channel limit removed on irc.freenode.net so that I may join more than 20 channels. I have a large amount of channels I wish to autojoin (about 25) and put this into xchat>network list, select network and edit.

The list is then saved to ~/.xchat2/servlist_.conf correctly.

However on closing then re-opening xchat the list is truncated. Only the first channels are joined and one channel is cut off so for example if #ubuntu was on the cut-off point, #ubuntu is not joined wheras #ubu is.

I've run into this too, changing the definition of CHANLEN in src/common/xchat.h fixes it. It's the same in xchat-gnome.

Sounds like a xchat's engine bug. You should report it to xchat-gtk.

CHANLEN in src/common/xchat.h is set to 300. Do you still need this to be increased?
Gutsy has 2.8.4,, if any of you could test if it is solved would also be great. Thanks in advance.

I am still having the same problem in Karmic, with Xchat only auto-joining the first 281 characters in the servlist.conf. Is there a fix for this, or should I download the source, modify CHANLEN in src/common/xchat.h?
