Selecting "shorten tabs to 2 chars" doesn't work.

Bug Description

Selecting the "shorten tabs" option to 2 characters doesn't work -- it simply does not shorted them at all. Shortening to 3 chars or more does work, though.

I'm using xchat on Dapper.

ii xchat 2.6.6-0ubuntu1~dap IRC client for X similar to AmIRC
