Bug Description

Binary package hint: xchat

From the network list window, I click on Freenode, then click edit.

The window that shows up is too tall for the netbook screen, and the entire window is not viewable. The only option is to close the window.

I don't know what is the GNOME usability guideline about minimum display resolutions, but this window measures ~660px. Most netbook screens have about 1024px width x 600px height, so this clearly will not fit. Designing this window in a more horizontal organization will certainly improve usability on this point.

I don't have a problem with the Freenode edit window as described in the original report, but the Settings > Preferences window cannot be resized, has no scrollbar, and does not entirely fit on my screen. I initially assumed the settings were automagically saved because it seemed there was no Save button. On closer inspection I can see about 3 pixels of the Save button just at the bottom of my screen.

Asus EEE PC 1001p screen has 1024x600. Using Ubuntu netbook edition 10.10.
