Bug Description

I see that XChat uses it own icon which is placed in /usr/share/icons/ Now if someone wants to create a iconset with XChat icon, then it becomes very difficult to do so.

XChat should be patched to use the theme specific Icon and use it's icon as a fallback.

I reported the bug upstream
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2971499&group_id=239&atid=100239

*** Note ***
Icon already present in the Humanity theme as "xchat-panel"

XChat is arguably the most popular irc client for linux users and should definitely use a monochrome icon (especially since it apparently already has one).

Perhaps this could be done before 10.10 is out?

Xchat currently does not change its tray icon with the gtk theme even though other apps (transmission for example) do. I think this is xchat not respecting some sort of freedesktop.org thing.

Is this in the panel? We are now using messaging menu for that. Inside that all icons are colored.
