XChat can not detect an URL within quotation marks

Bug Description
Binary package hint: xchat
If an URL is enclosed by whitespace in chat window, it is detected as an URL. This is not the case, if an URL is enclosed by quotation marks. I would expect to be at least able to configure a quotation mark to be a delimiter as well.
XChat 2.8.4 / ubuntu 8.04

I can confirms this on XChat 2.8.6, and Ubuntu 8.10.
