Bug Description
This problem affects both the standard xchat package from the main Ubuntu repositories, and the fork Hexchat.
When I accidentally click the close button on the main chat window, another window appears asking if I'm sure I want to quit. I click no, and no windows are visible, and there is no icon any longer in the Unity side bar. The only way to get the program back is to kill the process and launch again.
I am using Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit with all the latest updates installed and no special PPAs for Unity.

The bug currently says this only affects me, but I don't see how that could be possible. This has been an issue for me in 12.04, 12.10, and 13.04, across fresh installs, with both xchat and hexchat.
