xawtv crashed on my HP compaq Evo D530 running mythbuntu karmic beta

using my Pinnacle Hybrid Pro usb stick and video 4 linux drivers compiled from source. I was trying to tune the stick at the time it crashed.

I have just installed 8.04 LTS on the same hardware, and xawtv and tvtime both work fine, so assume this is a regression with the intel driver for ubuntu karmic. Not sure how to change this bug ticket to reflect this (please tell me if you know...)
