When selecting "Add archive extension to the filename", folders with that name should not be overwritten

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xarchiver

When creating a new archive, I often select "Add the archive extension to the filename". However, when there is a folder with the same name (e.g. I try to create lotsoffiles.tar.gz but there already is a folder lotsoffiles) and I click "Create" then it won't create the new archive but will browse the contents of that folder (so instead of creating lotsoffiles.tar.gz I would see lotsoffiles/*).

Hi,

Thanks for your bug report.

I don't think this is a bug, but the default gtk dialog behavior.
Reassigning to gtk.

doesn't look like a GTK bug, no. Reassigning to xarchive. Could you attach a small testcase if you think GTK is wrong there?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
