Wxmaxima keeps loosing connection to maxima

Binary package hint: wxmaxima

I have maxima running fine, but wxmaxima does not work; it continues to loose connection to the maxima server; this happens before I can type a single thing.

Are you running Dapper (6.06) or Edgy (6.10)? And what version of gcl, maxima and wxmaxima? I'm thinking this is probably a duplicate of bug 43150 but we should make sure.

xmaxima suffers from the same problem
