Bug Description

Binary package hint: wpasupplicant

Description of problem:
NetworkManager with WPA/WPA2 Enterprise security with LEAP authentication will
frequently drop/reconnect on a variety of ThinkPads running the Intel 4965 and
Intel 3945 wireless chipset.

This behaviour has been reported on Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10. It likely the same in 9.04.

Unfortunately, the fix for Fedora you link to is private, which mean we cannot access it.

Is there any public record of what the fix involve?

The behaviour is the same on 9.04 and 9.10.

Adding this patch http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/F-11/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant-assoc-timeout.patch?view=markup to 9.10's wpassuplicant (0.6.9-3) I could get reliable wireless using LEAP.

Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Karmic reached EOL on April 30, 2011.
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Please either a) upgrade and test or b) increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.
