applet reappears when disabled

Binary package hint: workrave

I'm using intrepid, but with Francois's backported workrave 1.9.0-6~ppa1.

I want to have workrave set up with no applet or window, just the panel sheep icon.

If I change the panel applet to be off in the preferences panel, it works for a while and then reappears.

This is similar to bug 160228.

Oddly enough even after it has reappeared I have it shown as disabled in gconf, and disabled in the preferences page. If I enabled and then disable it there, it goes away, and comes back a few seconds later.
