Bug Description

When I installed wine and tried to select windows programs, everything appeared OK. Until I tried downloading updates for Ubuntu or Kubuntu and I get the error "dpkg was interruped, you must run 'dpkg--configure -a' to correct problem. I tried to run this in run command and got the error "could not run specified command". I tried wine uninstall and get a screen "please select the application you wish to install" The blinking cursor is blank and I entered wine and hit uninstall with no response.

Wine corrupted the download manager and when I tried to uninstall wine I received Permission refused. I therefore removed Ubuntu from my hard drive. It is a shame that Ubuntu does not have an uninstall utility as it leaves the disk drive (when it is installed on a second HD) corrupted to Windows. I had to remove the master HD and make the slave the master to run the recovery disk.

I liked Ubuntu but it has too many failures and the recovery from them is too difficult for a beginner to solve. Thanks, but no thanks.
