Bug Description

Since wine 1.3.12, wine will attempt to launch MS-DOS executables with
dosbox [1].
For this integration to work, dosbox needs to support the 'mount -z y'
command to move the Z: mount to Y:.

This feature was added upstream in r3736 [2].

I examined the svn log to find other patches relating to wine and
found one other; r3742 [3].

Please consider including the two attached patches to improve
interoperability with wine.

It works perfectly, thanks!
Any idea if upstream is planning to do any release soon? 0.74 is some years old

@shankao: No idea. I tried sending qbix79 a message through sourceforge but got no reply.
Would you try opening a ticket please?

Now we just need wine to bump the Suggests on dosbox to a Recommends.

Looking at the latest svn log, ripsaw8080 seems active enough to be worth a try too

It's a pity to be just getting now features into ubuntu that were developed upstream more than 3 years ago.

The attached patch for wine1.6 bumps Suggests: dosbox:any to Recommends: dosbox (>= 0.74-4.2~).
Dosbox 0.74-4.2 includes the Wine interoperability patches and is marked Multi-Arch: foreign. Recommending dosbox:any didn't cause dosbox to be installed.

This was done slightly differently in Debian; dosbox was added as a Suggests, and to the wine i386 package only.
See Debian bug 792125 [1] for their patch and explanation.
