Bug Description

Update to latest set of updates, now when running anything wine related, the system just logs me out of gnome. Running even wine cmd.exe logs me out of gnome. I can only say it must have something to do with the latest updates, since I was using wine yesterday (09/12/2007) with no problem.

Ok thank you, I'm leaving this as new until someone can confirm. A new release of Wine should hit the repos in the next few days (0.9.45), please tell us if this is fixed or not when you get the update. Thanks.

Can this actually be a Wine problem? Like I said, yesterday it was working fine. Wine ran all my windows apps.

It sounds like X may be restarting for some reason if it logs your out of your X session. I would also take a look at /var/log/Xorg.* log files.

That gave me a clue into what was happening. For some reason my nvidia-glx-new driver was crashing. reinstalled it and now everything works again. Thanks

Ive been having the same problem since about the same version of wine. I update with the wine repos so now I'm up to v 0.9.51. I do not have an nvidia card so i don't think it would be related to an nvidia driver. My graphics card is an intel x3100 in a thinkpad x61. There are no .xsession-errors that mention wine. Also the /var/log/Xorg.* files do not mention wine (im not sure if they would). I don't know where to look here.

Elias: thank you for reporting your problems, but you should open a new bug report, as you said the cause of your problem seems to be different.
