What happens when you run "sudo wicd"? You should get some traceback that way.
Does /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf exist on your system? Try this:

ls -lah /etc/resolv.conf
cat /etc/resolv.conf

And check what was resolv.conf before with:

ls -lah /etc/resolv.conf.backup
