I also think that it would be a good idea to have a freeze exception for this update and have jaunty released with this version instead of the discontinued 1.4 release. The package is ready in Debian unstable for syncing.

1.6 represents a new stable series, with ongoing support from upstream. 1.5 (never imported into jaunty) was a development series, and specifically blocked from inclusion in hopes that 1.6 would be released soon enough for jaunty.

Note that 1.4 clients will not be able to attach to 1.6 servers, so moving to 1.6 will significantly improve interoperability with other environments (including public servers).

A sync of 1.6a-1 from Debian sid would build/install cleanly in jaunty.
