May be just try rebuilding the package?
I installed webcamoid_8.1.0+dfsg-7_amd64.deb (the same version as in Ubuntu!) from Debian Sid https://packages.debian.org/sid/amd64/webcamoid/download , leaving webcamoid-data and webcamoid-plugins from Ubuntu, and it does NOT segfault.

I can confirm that this bug is still present in webcamoid on Xubuntu 18.10 (cosmic).

The problem is the same as in the Bug Description above:

Segmentation fault (error 4 in libQt5Core.so.5.11.1)

I also had problems with Budgie 18.10.

I uploaded a paliative fix from upstream today.
