I can reliably reproduce the issue on frieza. I’m not seeing anything in the logs when that happens. Other websites with <select> elements (such as http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_select) work fine.

I can’t reproduce the issue on my desktop running up-to-date xenial (without overlay PPA). There the selector popup is displayed.

I’m not event seeing the popupMenu component being instantiated, meaning that oxide isn’t even getting signaled that a selector has been activated.

It’s the touch event that doesn’t trigger the selector: if I connect a bluetooth mouse to my tablet, I can click on the selectors to get the lists of stations.

I’ve just discovered that a short tap doesn’t invoke the selector, but a slightly longer press does (not a really long press either, just slightly longer than a single tap). This is really weird. I wonder what that website does to default touch handling to achieve that.

Now this is ridiculous. Adding a desktop UA override for http://www.crossrail.co.uk/ solves the problem, by simply replacing the "Chromium" token with "Chrome". What the heck is wrong with web developers?
