Binary package hint: webboard
I am filing this work-flow bug to request a Feature Freeze Exception for WebBoard. WebBoard is a graphical interface for pastebin services which can work either as a standalone application or as an applet from gnome-panel. Jaunty currently includes version 0.2.1+bzr20090119, a snapshot I took from upstream's bzr branch (which was taken over by a new maintainer after two years of inactivity) which changed the default pastebin server from the now unavailable paste.ubuntu-nl.org to paste.debian.net, and yesterday the first release by the new maintainer, 0.2.2, which brings us several benefits, was released.
The improvements it gives is that that bug #332666, which made WebBoard fail from submitting the paste with the default selection (Plain Text) and bug #329563 (adding a manpage for the standalone application and moving the executable for the applet out of the path) are now fixed. Additionally, the reason why I am requesting this exception is that it now let's the user change the name with which the paste will be send (a quite desirable, new, feature). The new version also fixes copyright headers and the like...
I'm attaching a diff with the changes between the new release and the snapshot currently in Ubuntu. Note that it was generated with bzr, as several files were moved and a normal diff can not handle this properly. |

Thanks. I'll get the package into Debian and then change this bug to a sync request :). |

Please sync webboard 0.2.2.-1 from Debian unstable to Jaunty.
A Feature Freeze exception has been granted for 0.2.2 (see below); 0.2.2.1 only adds a bug fix.

Siegfried, what's the status of WebBoard? I'm unable to see it in Debian NEW. Was it rejected? |

No, I've just checked and *it is* in the queue. But I see there are still a lot of packages before it, so I'll upload directly to Ubuntu now. |
