According to MOTU Q&A a week or so ago, I agreed to test whether python-gammu from Debian unstable can be built and installed in gutsy, and here is the report. It can. :)

Attaching a diffstat of upstream tarballs, a diff of upstream NEWS files (no Changelog here), the NEWS file of new version and a pbuilder build log plus an install log.

Also tested that wammu actually works after installing the new dependencies, I did get it up and running, it found my phone that was attached with a USB cable, and it successfully read the calendar markings from the phone.

As sid had gotten a newer version, I re-built the package, here's the pbuilder build log.

Package installed correctly, and both gammu & wammu worked correctly after installing the latest binary package (please see bug #150587 for further testing details).
