Bug Description

The n-trig digitizer in my Tx2 works in jaunty (with patches and such found in ubuntuforums).

The patch is included in the 2.6.31 kernel - but the wacom tools / wacom x-driver / wacom driver do not jive. The X log file reports that the n-trig is not supported by linuxwacom.

It appears the 0.8.4 of the linuxwacom would fix this.

Hi mark-hanoverbeacon,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I am running Ubuntu 9.10 on my Dell Latitude XT 2 that has an N-Trig digitizer built in. The wacom driver does not recognize the digitizer without the patch from here:

http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=4A03EE63.3010403%40seas.upenn.edu&forum_name=linuxwacom-discuss

With the patch, the digitizer starts to work.

Thus I suggest to include this patch into the Ubuntu package xserver-xorg-linux-wacom.

Marc

sorry for such a long delay. I finally had time to reinstall karmic (alongside jaunty) and have a working karmic install. I'm attaching the info asked for...

I finally got the 0.8.3 debian package patched with the n-trig.patch and it mostly works now. I saw in another bug-report that the kernel driver is updated in the latest git kernel. So far we're getting close to feature parity with jaunty.
