Hi 1000hz-radiowave,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

Hello Bryce!

I've found some info about not working wacom stuff on HP Pavilion tx1xxx and tx2xxx series at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5469447#post5469447
and here
http://mirosol.kapsi.fi/tx2020/tx2000howto.htm
all those seem to be for ubuntu 8.x but maybe you will find the information usefull.

The output from lspci -vvnn is as follows:

Well, unless somebody with an HP Pavilion tx2000 is nice enough to try it (on a spare partition for example) we don't have any way to know.

Hello.

I have an HP Pavilion TX2690 (it's in the tx2000-series). And have just installed the 9.10 RC.
The pen is working perfectly with the wacom-screen, but the touchscreen-part of it is not (ie I can't use my finger, just the pen).

I'm attaching the output I think is relevant... Please tell me if I should attach something else also. It's good to finally be able to use the pen on my TabletPC, out-of-the-box, within Ubuntu. But would be even better if I also could use my finger. :-)

And, yeah, I have not made any changes to the xorg.conf at all. This is out of the box, install from 9.10 Release Candidate.

Kind regards from Norway,
Jørn.

Oh...

For my problem, see Bug #357709 ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wacom-tools/+bug/357709 ). This solved it for me. :-)

Hello.

I'm including the 10-linuxwacom.fdi -file which did the trick for me.
It's based off of "gali98"'s guide within Ubuntu Forums.

The default config which came with Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic (RC) did enable the stylus and eraser for me, but not touch.

This config enables touch, and I have tried calibrating it as good as I'm able to. And I'm happy with it. :-)

Just download this config, and copy it to /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-linuxwacom.fdi (overwriting the exisiting file).
Then, after a quick reboot, you should be able to use the touch-screen.

It could be you need to calibrate some other way then what I did. In that case, run the program "wacomcpl" (apt-get install wacom-tools) , select the tool you want to calibrate, and touch the spots. :) It will put the new coordinates into $HOME/.xinitrc

I hope this helps!!

And I hope the wacom-package will drop another linuxwacom.fdi in Karmic, so that Touch will work by default.

Kind regards from Norway,
Jørn.

Ubuntu lucid (10.04) beta1 supports both pen and touchscreen.
I think this bug can be now safely closed.

Well... 9.4 also "supported" touchscreen, but it didnt work at least on that particular laptop. ;) So i'd rather wait while someone who has this laptop could really check it.

Did that really work "out of the box" or you had to do a lot of tricky console magic to get it working?

It works out of the box, but for the touchscreen you need to do some adjustments to specify the screen size.

Thank you for reporting this issue with wacom-tools, we are migrating it to the new xf86-input-wacom package which has replaced it in the development version of Ubuntu.

This would be a good point for you to re-test this issue against the new package to see if is still occurring. If not, you can mark it as Fix Released in Launchpad. If it is still an issue in the current development release and you're the original reporter, please reply and attach a fresh Xorg.0.log.
